    Canseco Detained At U.S.Border

Friday, October 10, 2008, 03:03 PM PST [General]

Jose Canseco on Thursday was detained at the Border returning from Mexico coming back in to California.  According to my sources Canseco was in possesion of an illegal drug, HCG.     It is drug commonly used during and after steroid cycles to maintain and restore testicular size as well as produce testosterone.  When I reached Canseco's attorney, Greg Emerson he had "No Comment" and the U.S. Attorney in San Diego told me that it was an ongoing investigation and no comment either.  Canseco is due in Federal Court on Tuesday, October 14th to deal with this.  Canseco was not arrested, just detained.

    Saito Left Off Playoff Roster

Thursday, October 9, 2008, 11:45 AM PST [General]

The Dodgers have opted to go with Lefty, Hung Chi Kuo instead of Takashi Saito for their NLCS Playoff roster.  Kuo must have shown Torre he was healthy enough to pitch, although reports are that he will only pitch one inning per game.  In Saito's case, he must still have lingering problems.  This gives Torre 3 lefty options for the Left-Handed Heavy Phillies lineup.   Joe Beimel, Kuo, and Clayton Kershaw, who might start Game 4

Baylor Out, Dunleavy Coach and GM

Tuesday, October 7, 2008, 05:16 PM PST [General]

The Clippers sent a press release out minutes ago announcing Elgin Baylor has been relieved of his General Mangaer duties and Mike Dunleavy is now the GM/Coach.  It has been assumed by many that cover or work for the Clippers that Baylor was being phased out of personnel decisions and Dunleavy taking more control.  It became obvious during the Elton Brand fiasco over the summer, when Dunleavy announced to everyone that he was the one negotiating with Brand's agent, David Falk.  That is when it became obvious.  For the Clippers to just kick Baylor to curb after being the loyal soldier for 20 plus years is disgusting.  Shocking the Clippers handling something badly!

    Scioscia Made Right Call

Monday, October 6, 2008, 11:32 PM PST [General]

I got tired of hearing Angels fans after the Red Sox beat them in 4 games blaming manager Mike Scioscia for his call for a squeeze in the 9th!  There are so many reasons why it was the right thing to do, Aybar is ahead in the count 2-0, Masterson has to get a strike over, with the him likely throwing a fastball for a strike...He throws an inside breaking ball, not the easiest pitch to get down, but Aybar has to get some wood on it even if he fouls it off.  The Angels have struggled the whole series to score runs, the go-ahead run with speed in Willits is on third and their best bunter at the plate=the best chance to go ahead 3-2 and win the game with Francisco Rodriguez in the Bottom of the 9th.  Not to mention Willits was safe after Varitek dropped the ball after the tag...It's not football people! Even though he took 2 steps after the tag, it's a continuation play in baseball----he's safe!!!!!  Boston robs L.A. again!

Finally, the Angels didn't play like themselves all series with misplays it seemed every inning in the field and the lack of clutch hitting.  Why does Vlad Guerrero seem to get a free pass every post season?  If he wants to be paid like a franchise player, he needs to start playing like one and hit an impactful home run or extra base hit in the post season, not just against the Texas Rangers!

    Dodgers Sweep Cubs!

Sunday, October 5, 2008, 12:44 AM PST [General]

Just got back from another wild celebration inside the Dodgers clubhouse after the Dodgers swept the Cubs and now are going to the NLCS for the first time since 1988! I knew it was time to leave again when the players threw milk on Russ Martin while I was interviewing him. Kuroda was sensational for 6 1/3 and Cory Wade and Jonathan Broxton were outstanding as well in relief. Derek Lowe told me that this is the most rewarding feeling since the Dodgers were huge underdogs coming in to the post season. Russ Martin seemed emotionally exhausted after the game. James Loney was his goofy self, I don't think he realizes that he drove in 6 runs (2 on Saturday) to set a Dodgers NLDS record.  Manny was Manny just enjoying the celebration.  Talking to Joe Torre as well, I think he feels vindicated telling me that managing the last few years hadn't been that enjoyable.

The Dodgers will take Sunday off and will workout at Dodger Stadium on Monday afternoon.

    Until Next Celebration!...
