    Lakers vs Suns

Thursday, January 17, 2008, 10:17 AM PST [General]

Tonight the Lakers take on the Suns at home. The Lakers are 2-0 against the Suns this year beating them to open the season in Phoenix and then taking them down at home on Christmas Day. The Suns are reeling, coming off a bad loss to the Clippers, which may or may not be a good thing. The Suns may be fire up after that loss and wanna come out of LA with a win, well tonight would be there chance. On the other hand the Suns could still be burned giving Kobe and Co a chance to beat them. On the other hand the Lakers are coming off a win over Seattle in which Kobe goes off for 48 and nails the game winner. This will be the 2nd game for the Purple and Gold with out Bynum who is out for 8 weeks with an injury. So every win moving forward is not just a win but a bonus for the Lakers who if Bynum can return to the form he was playing at will be, like I have been saying, the Western Conference Champions.

Lakers will win the Western Conference

Friday, January 11, 2008, 12:25 PM PST [General]

I am crowning the Lakers the Western Conference Champions. I do not believe any team in the  western conference will beat the Lakers. San Antonio is getting to old and beat up, the Lakers have the Suns number, beating them at a consistant rate and as for Dallas we all saw what they are made of in the playoffs last year. So i am predicting today that the Lakers and the Celtics will match up in the NBA Finals, much like they did in the 1980's. I cant see the Lakers beating the Celtics and this point in time, so i will have to give the title to Boston, but if the lakers continue to improve and Bynum continues to grow and dominate and the Lakers defense improves then the Lakers would have a shot, but they will have to continue to get better. The Celtics right now are the team to beat but the Lakers are catching up. Tonight the Lakers will take on Milwaukee and am predicting another Lakers win. The Lakers are 1 of 4 teams in the West with 11 losses so they are right there on the cusp and they can take another step toward their title tonight. I will be there watching my team notch another win

    Hunka Hunka Lakers Love

Wednesday, January 9, 2008, 11:19 AM PST [General]

The Lakers take down the Grizzlies in Memphis on Elvis' birthday. Things are looking good right now for the Purple and Gold. Kobe and the guys are playing good ball but lets make no mistake, Memphis wasnt a very good team. Tonight will be the test, the second game of a back to back on the road vs a solid contender. If the Lakers play like they did last night and win in such a convincing fashion then i will back off of them and give them their props, but if they get blown out then they will be nothing more then a mediocre 6th seeded team that will get bounced in the first round of the playoffs. So tonight is a pivtol game. Kobe needs to come up big. Score, pass and be a leader on the court. He will need to make sure that Bynum gets the ball inside and get Odom out in transition. If the Lakers play as a team then they will win, but if they fold at the first sign of trouble then it will be a long night and the Lakers will get blown out.

    KU Wins

Friday, January 4, 2008, 12:53 PM PST [General]

Kansas beat Va Tech in the Orange Bowl last night. Does this solidify Rock Chalk's season. Va Tech was ranked 3rd in the nation. It was a good win for the Jayhawks but they still lacked the strength of schedule. Playing in the Big 12 they didnt play Oklahoma or Texas playing only Missouri as a quality opponent. Finally tho we get a close game. KU jumped out to a 17-7 lead but the Hokies came back making it close. Even tho the BCS games have been lackluster at least the Orange Bowl was competitive. With the Loss another BCS Conference Champion loses. Va Tech joins Oklahoma as being upset in the Bowl Games which is par for the course in this season. Up next the Finale Ohio St vs LSU...Kickoff Monday Night. Have a great sports weekend.

    BCS Mess

Wednesday, January 2, 2008, 12:26 PM PST [General]

USC drills Illinois in the Rose Bowl, Georgia Whacks Hawaii in the Sugar Bowl. Two BCS bowl games and 2 lopsided matchups....USC and Georgia should have played in the Rose Bowl and what a game that would have been. Both Illinois and Hawaii did not belong. Hawaii did not come ready to play. Colt Brennan got hammered. The offensive line didnt protect Brennan and he paid for it. USC was as dominant as ever and showed why they are the best program in the country. So the Rose Bowl and the Sugar Bowl were mismatches...what about Tonight when West Virginia takes on Oklahoma. West Virginia has the talent to beat the Sooners but are with out a coach so will that hinder White and Slaton from doing there thing. The Sooners are hot as well and Bob Stoops will have his team ready but will this be a blow out too. Especially since the Mountaineers lost out on a trip to the BCS title game when they lost the backyard brawl. The Orange Bowl has Kansas vs Va Tech...Most people thing Missouri should be there and not KU... i tell you what if KU gets whacked which they probably will then you can chalk that up to another BCS bad game. Then there is the BCS game with Ohio St and LSU. I wouldnt be surprised if Ohio St gets bombed like they did last year. So when all is said and done all BCS games this year could be blowouts...
