I am a dodger season ticket holder and went to 62 games last year and a couple in san diego and about the same the year before….
These are my thoughts....
The question I keep hearing is if Torre will make the dodgers better. The question really should be is how much better are the dodgers going to be without Grady Little no matter who is managing…
The answer is a lot better.
Let me tell you. The MANAGER is very important. Watching Grady Little for the last 2 years is a great example. I cant tell you how many times my friends and I were perplexed at the decisions he was making… At first I thought, he knows what hes doing. But after daily questionable managerial decisions, with failures, you come to realize hes just an idiot. He did sooo many things that were strange at first and seemed absolutely retarded later. Even announcers were puzzled about his decisions at times… And announcers usually don't questions coaches moves... But they did for Grady...
I have no Idea how he did so well in the Atlanta organization. Doesn’t make sense.
Back to the question: A good team doesnt need a good manager to win… They just need an average manager not to screw things up and let the players play. And they will have a good chance to win. As such the case is for the dodgers. They are a good team that just needs a couple of components and decent manager not to bumble everything and all will work out.
Torre fits that bill.
Look for Torre to add 15 to 20 games in the win column… Not because of the things he will do.. But because of the things that hes not going to do that Little did that will make the difference....
If Jim Tracey was still the coach of the dodgers last year even he could of taken the dodgers to the playoffs and probably would have won a series or two.. The Dodgers are that talented even with the injuries. And Tracey is just and average everyday coach.. Nothing special… But he knows how to manage the bullpen and players something Little lacked.

PS… Forget all this A-rod stuff… Hes too expensive and Cabrera is a free agent and possible Beltre is being dangled… Better to get one of those guys and get some bullpen and starting pitching help. Instead of selling the whole farm for a 3b/SS who has a great batting average but hasn't won anything and has a agent who always opts out. Better to let the Angels or SF have him.
