    Are dodgers better with Torre??

Tuesday, November 6, 2007, 07:52 AM PST [General]

I am a dodger season ticket holder and went to 62 games last year and a couple in san diego and about the same the year before….

    These are my thoughts....

The question I keep hearing is if Torre will make the dodgers better. The question really should be is how much better are the dodgers going to be without Grady Little no matter who is managing…

The answer is a lot better.

Let me tell you. The MANAGER is very important. Watching Grady Little for the last 2 years is a great example. I cant tell you how many times my friends and I were perplexed at the decisions he was making… At first I thought, he knows what hes doing. But after daily questionable managerial decisions, with failures, you come to realize hes just an idiot. He did sooo many things that were strange at first and seemed absolutely retarded later. Even announcers were puzzled about his decisions at times… And announcers usually don't questions coaches moves... But they did for Grady...

I have no Idea how he did so well in the Atlanta organization. Doesn’t make sense.

Back to the question: A good team doesnt need a good manager to win… They just need an average manager not to screw things up and let the players play. And they will have a good chance to win. As such the case is for the dodgers. They are a good team that just needs a couple of components and decent manager not to bumble everything and all will work out.

    Torre fits that bill.

Look for Torre to add 15 to 20 games in the win column… Not because of the things he will do.. But because of the things that hes not going to do that Little did that will make the difference....

If Jim Tracey was still the coach of the dodgers last year even he could of taken the dodgers to the playoffs and probably would have won a series or two.. The Dodgers are that talented even with the injuries. And Tracey is just and average everyday coach.. Nothing special… But he knows how to manage the bullpen and players something Little lacked.

    ----------------------------------

PS… Forget all this A-rod stuff… Hes too expensive and Cabrera is a free agent and possible Beltre is being dangled… Better to get one of those guys and get some bullpen and starting pitching help. Instead of selling the whole farm for a 3b/SS who has a great batting average but hasn't won anything and has a agent who always opts out.  Better to let the Angels or SF have him.

You have got to be kidding me....

So I was listening to Dan Patrick show and Michael Silvers from Yahoo sports comes on...  He said that hes from Los Angeles and doesnt think their are many people in Los Angeles that want a football team???  Becasue people are happy with the tv package that we see now because we dont have a team???  Is he CRAZY... Becasue that sounds crazy....l

Michael Silvers must be from Calabasas area or somewhere else out in the boonies and thats not really in the Los Angeles.

Because the people I am around desperately want a team.  And miss having football here.  I am a former LA Raider season ticket holder  from 85 to 93 and I went to atleast 4 rams games a year. Football was great in los angeles, and their was passion. But after the rams and raiders left I boycotted the NFL for 5 seasons..  It wasnt untill the millenium until I would support or watch football.. I was disgusted.

Its unbelievable to me that both teams left in the SAME SEASON...  And the NFL let them do it.  Its retarded. And since then no football has been played here except arena and college...  So Sad.  Its the biggest TV market next to New York and the NFL can put a team here... But in that time did you know Cleveland got a team.  And so did Carolina and houston and jacksonville... But where is Los Angeles...  I have no Idea what Tagliabeu was doing in those 11 years.

Part of the reason is because the media is misdiagnosing the true Los Angeles fan base. They portray us as fickle.  When in actuality its the out-of-towners that come to los angeles and use it like a whore that are the ones that are fickle and not the true fan base of los angeles.

10 million residents would embrace a team.  And please dont give me this realignment BS.  And that the NFL is good as it is right now.  Just add two teams then...

I will agree with Silvers on a point that yes we do need a good powerful owner who can build a tradition worthy of los angeles.  And not another Al Davis type.

    Just wondering

Monday, October 15, 2007, 03:02 PM PST [General]

I went to the kings game last night.  It was an awful game for the Kings.  They looked lack luster and looked like they neede some shots of redbull..

Anyways I was wondering if anyone else noticed the large population of red wing fans in Los Angeles area?  And alot of them showed up last night.  Seemed like 25% of people were redwings fans.  Why is this?

    Are they bandwagon fans?

Are they Detroit refugees supporting their home town team?

Are The kings so bad it drives hockey fans to cheer for other teams.

    Whats the deal?
