    Joe Beimel Bobblehead Night? Why?

Thursday, July 24, 2008, 09:54 AM PST [General]

I was looking up the upcoming promotional schedule for the Dodgers and noticed there are only 2 more bobblehead giveaways scheduled for the remainder of the season. This Friday they will be giving away Brad Penny bobbleheads which I can understand as he is one of the Dodgers high priced star players even though he has been hurt all year and contributed absolutely nothing to the team. Production on the field is not a prerequisite for obtaining bobblehead status; I have bobbleheads of Tony Tarasco and Chris Mihm so this is proof.

Where I was shocked, startled and then troubled was reading the August 12th promotion of Joe Beimel bobblehead night.  Joe Beimel? A middle relief pitcher? I started thinking about more deserving players on the current Dodger roster of a bobblehead that have yet to have the honor bestowed upon them: Chad Billingsley, Matt Kemp, James Loney, Andre Either, Jonathon Broxton, heck even Andrew Jones is more deserving for the mere fact that he was a all star player at one time in this league; but Joe Beimel. How many season ticket holders would even know what position Joe Beimel plays for the Dodgers? I guess only half. The funnier part about this is the fans voted for this. Who the heck was Joe Beimel going against in this poll? Frank McCourt? Ned Colletti? Brian Falkenborg? Usama Bin Laden? That is the only line of reasoning I could come up as to why Joe Beimel received the fan vote for bobblehead night; by default. I then thought of other unlikely and unknown people or objects that should be honored by having a bobblehead likeness created for them since Joe Beimel has set the precedence of the obscure, unknown and forgotten.

LaTavia Roberson Bobblehead Night...  early member of Destiny's Child that was later exiled.

Black Vulcan Bobblehead Night... the only black member of the Super Friends...didn't reach the popularity of Superman, Batman or even Aquaman...many believe the "Whiteman" was holding him down.

Lower Back Bobblehead Night....Does anybody ever really wash this part of their body?..you cant reach it and most people don't give it a second thought.

R.C. Cola Bobblehead Night....This was great soda and an amazing value. I only see this soda in cheap inner city supermarkets and never the big vending machines.

NGV (Natrual Gas Vehicle) Bobblehead Night...  what dork still drives this type of vehicle?...Doesn't the drive to one of these hard to find stations make it ridiculously  inconvenient? Also, while reducing the harmful toxins in our atmosphere and contributing to the reduction of our dependence on oil is great you really can't look cool driving one of these vehicles with the NGV decals on them. It is a losing technology that even the hybrid geeks are laughing at you. Owners of these vehicles are the same guys that purchased Mini Disc and HD DVD players. Please upgrade your status a bit and get a Prius.

Vote for Nanizm: Update on Hungry Children

Tuesday, May 27, 2008, 10:43 AM PST [General]

The Poor, Cute and Hungry children that have benefited from the generosity of your votes has reached the hundreds.  With your votes for Nanizm ( who is now in bracket A, #11 ), it has turned into vital nourishments to these beautiful starving children; but we can't stop now, not with some many Poor, Cute and Hungry children still out there needing your help.

Please vote for Nanizm, bracket A, # 11, and turn those two minutes of your time into life.

Update on Tabitha: I am sorry to report that Tabitha's behavior had reached an intolerable level and has been kicked out of the Poor, Cute and Hungry children program; she will no longer receive any food that comes directly from your votes. She has been replaced with an even cuter and much hungrier child named Abby little adorable Abby. Please note that the cookie in the picture was for show only and was taken back immediately after the picture. So she is still incredibly hungry and needs you help.

Vote for Nanizm, bracket A, #11 now and get Abby a cookie of her own.

Vote for Nanizm: Billy and Tabitha update

Thursday, May 22, 2008, 08:37 AM PST [General]

We are happy to inform that with the generosity of the voting public Billy and Tabitha were able to receive enough nourishment to get through another week. With your votes Billy LITTLE BOY ANDREWwas able to receive a couple of spoonfuls of rice, a few unsalted crackers and some sugared water.

Tabitha Little Tabithaalso received rice, however, she doesn't like unsalted crackers and stated she wanted Ritz crackers instead...because of blatant selfishness and ungratefulness she did not receive crackers at all...and was given plain tap water...Happy to say with the little food Tabitha did receive it seems as if her stutter is beginning to subside. She still has trouble with words beginning with B, T and K; with a little more food, this should be corrected.

This is where you come in...voting for Nanizm, in the Fox 11 bracket, #9 will keep the food coming in to Billy, Tabitha and other cute, poor and hungry children.

If enough votes are received, it is possible that Billy will get some InfraRed Freeze Powerade he has been hoping for.

If enough votes received, and Tabitha is well behaved, she can receive some of those Ritz crackers she wanted, to go with that rice and plain tap water.

Only you can help these children; and it starts here by voting for Nanizm, in the Fox 11 bracket, #9.

The majority of the assists that he accumulates are when he gets into trouble while driving to the basket and dishes to someone else to bail himself out of a bad situation. They're not planned or intentional, they're incidental assists. He's a ME player not a TEAM player. Take the Kobe goggles off and watch what's really going on.

I'm positive. Just looking for the Lakers to excel to be the best. That hard schedule thing is a little overrated and they really havent beaten a good defensive minded team.

I really dont have to say much since the list of defensive teams they beat is a joke and weak. Im not sure if you remember but both Pistons and Spurs were missing their all star players. Those werent real wins. Come on get serious. If the Lakers lost to them without kobe and lamar you know what the first thing would be out of lakers fans mouths.

Im not gonna comment too much on the rest of the list of jazz, rockets and bulls. Name me a team that hasnt beaten those bad teams. I want them to be the best just like you, but Im not gonna act a fool and act like those are wins or real teams.

To say that "no one" will get it is a little far-fetched. True, I could have posted it elsewhere but it was the only thing I could think of when setting up my account. Besides, any time you can throw sexual inuendos in with politics always makes great conversation regardless of your outlet.

yes i know SC lost to Stanford. that was terrible but Stanford isnt the worst team in college football.

i dont understand your manlove for Mitch. he better hope Lakers do well this year. if not it should be his last year.

Raiders have been inconsistent and that scares me. they can be good but they have to be week after week.

Daute had some chances, you're right like before halftime but it wasn't going to be enough. if they wouldve stopped LT once maybe that wouldve helped.

how can you be a Kupcake-apologist? you sound like Dr. Buss. there aren't any tradeable players because he's done a terrible job at drafting players for example. i don't care where he picked in the draft. you mean you couldn't get better players than Sasha and Brian Cook?
