So...on Tuesday morning I heard a Labor Day story that can probably get down with the best of them...
Labor Day 2008; Approx 10:15a....two friends head to a dive bar after working an early morning shift...one more is on her way. Now this bar... its in the corner of a parking lot that sits among many other mama and pop shops...it has velvet wallpaper(no..really), very creative, um...interesting works of art wear its walls and when you get there...the bartender can barely see and only having his back-up pair of glasses on hand because he misplaced the "new" pair... was only half the reason...and...there is always...always...at least 5/6 people sitting at the bar religiously...now...just so you know...this is just second hand information..I mean, I've never been there to actually confirm ;] its just what I was told...
But I digress...by the time Bianca made it to the corner booth...they were already one drink in...Victoria went for the bloody mary ( I mean, its 10am...breakfast drink, right? makes it more acceptable...lol) Riley went for a vodka..rocks. Bianca ...vodka..splash of cranberry.
Now, Victoria and Riley had already gotten off of work and were ready to do Labor Day the way they like to do almost every other holiday...kick back, drink, laugh...talk what they talk...but keep in mind that Bianca still had to go into work that afternoon at 3...
so after a few rounds....a nice Irish guy comes to sit with them and ends up buying 3 more rounds...
to make a long story short...hmmm...is that possible at this point?
walking back from Del Taco...which shares the p lot with the bar...they realize that 5 hours have just gone by and its around 3:14p only 14 minutes late :o ...sooo....the plan is for Bianca to head straight to work which is right down the street...Riley..straight home...
around 530p Riley gets a knock on the her door...this wakes her up and she notices she has a bunch of missed calls from work...thinking it has to be Bianca...she calls work and asks to talk to her...she's not there...wtf? that was 3 hours ago...
Riley has to find this girl...she goes back to the dive bar..not there...decides to stop by the workplace's p lot...just by intuition...pulls around the corner and there's her car...parked..windows down...the entire time that everyone was calling around looking for her...she was right downstairs...knocked the &$%# out...by this time...its about 615p and her shift ends at 7...instead of parking..and running upstairs as soon as she got there...the sweet thing opted to take a nap and slept straight through her workday...hee hee hee...
....now thats the way you do Labor Day...not night...just day...bc folks who start at 10am usually dont make it through the night...haha....
