    NBA MVP FLIP FLOP

Tuesday, February 26, 2008, 10:48 PM PST [General]

    Let's turn back the clock...

When Steve Nash was running his Phoenix Suns to one of the best records in the West, sports analysts were praising his game, about how he makes his team-mates better.  All the while, Kobe was raising his game to ridiculous levels, posting insane numbers, and getting the Lakers to make the playoffs, with a team of young players that would not be starters in any other NBA team, with the exception of Lamar Odom.

When the sports analysts started to push their articles about who deserves the MVP, Kobe was left out, regardless of the fantastic numbers he was putting up.  Strings of 40ppg/50ppg, 81 point game, numerous game winners, scoring titles, etc...

So this year, when LeBron is just playing out of his mind, posting Magic/Big O. stats, would I expect the same sports analysts, to make the same arguments they did for Nash a couple years ago?  Of course not.

The new argument is, "He's gotten his team, with a bunch of nobody's above .500 all by himself".  Now these same people "flip-flop" their argument for the MVP candidate.  Their spin, is obviously a dislike of Kobe for whatever reason they may have.  Colorado?  Shaq?  Trashing team-mates?  Desiring to be the best player ever?  Whatever it is they hold against him, has poisoned their reasoning to levels of pure hatred.

There is no doubt in my mind that LeBron will be one of the greatest players in NBA history, but right now he hasn't earned it, as much as Kobe has.  What I mean is...throw the numbers out for now...look at their respective conferences...look at both their records before both teams benefited from trades.  Ask yourself, which player is more deserving of the MVP, due to their strength of schedule?  I know it is not Lebron's fault for being in the conference that he is in, but I know he would have a worse record if his team was out west.

MVP vote, is a fantasy guess at which player has performed best during the regular season, with the expectation, that he will get his team to win the championship.  Steve Nash, had two chances and failed to even qualify for the championship game.  Dirk Nowitski had his chance last year, and failed to even pull his team out of the first round.  If LeBron James earns the MVP this year, do you really think his team will win it all?

I'm putting my money on a sure thing.  With the game on the line, in the last few seconds, there is no other player I would want to take the game winning shot, Kobe Bryant.  I really think that Kobe has the best chance of getting the Lakers into the championship, and winning it all in convincing fashion.

The MVP goes to Kobe Bryant, he earned it!

    MAKE IT HAPPEN MITCH

Monday, January 28, 2008, 02:44 PM PST [General]

Time for Mitch to call NJ and make a trade for Kidd.  Buss needs to approve the trade, regardless of the amount.  After all the fans have been paying top dollor the past 3 years for a mediocre team.

    LAKERS, CHARGERS ODYSSEY

Tuesday, January 15, 2008, 04:10 PM PST [General]

Lakers' loss of Andrew Bynum, thier most improved player this year, will be missed for the next two months.  Already, the controversy.  Can Lakers adapt, improve, or implode?  Only Kobe can impose on his teammates the tempo of the Game.  Will the Fisher king lay down the law?  R U the law giver?  LAKERS ARE YOU FIRED UP?!  WHY ARE YOU FIRED UP?!!  AGGGGGGGGGH!

Chargers be brave, be focused, and do not believe the hype.  The Goliath can be taken down, with faith and fortitude.  Rivers, if you insist on walking with your mouth, be prepared to split your lip when you fall, face first.  LT the time for crying is over, wipe your tears, and avenge your honor and create your legacy!

    Good Luck My Friends...
