    Concussive Effects (Chris Beniot)

Friday, September 7, 2007, 11:16 PM PST [General]

For those who didn't see the story break on Espn a few days ago and that later broke on Larry King Live, it is now being discovered that Chris Benoit of the WWE had severe brain damage which the doctors think is from multiple concussions that were treated wrongly or not at all. It is also believed that the effects caused can be dementia and depression among others.

There was a story on outside the lines this week in which they also linked some former NFL players deaths to multiple concussive effects as well. Every sports league needs to do a better job looking after the health of the athletes not just their pocket books, and I hope all of this will shed some light to stopping these tragic occurrences.

    Michael Vick's Ordeal

Wednesday, August 22, 2007, 11:49 PM PST [General]

Not that is should matter too much, but I'd just like to preface this statement by saying that I am an African American male in college and have been a huge Michael Vick fan since his VA Tech days.

Since the allegations recently of the dogfighting ring and since the raid of his Viriginia home where they found the dead bodies of the dogs, I have said if he is directly involved with this then he must be charged to the fully extent of the law, because it is a felony. He is a grown man now, and he just has to be responsible for his own actions and those of the people who occupy his property. He cannot use his upbringing or the fact that other people live on his property as an excuse.

Having said that, I don't understand quite why there is the cry to near crucify him and Leonard Little of the St. Louis Rams, has had multiple drunk driving charges and killed a mother and there is no national outcry there? Is Michael Vick wrong, definitely, but charge him as a man, let's not gang up on him and try to make an example because he is who he is, that's being hypocritical.
