The Dodgers finally made a move and went after a star and landed Man-Ram! Boston I know your sick of him but the real Dodger fans (I say that cuz now that Manny is here there is going to be like triple the Dodger fans especially if they start winning.)have been dying for star player who can bring the long ball to L.A. something we have not seen since the Piazza and even Sheffield days. I'm getting my tix for tomorrow night so I can yell at the top of my lungs and welcome Manny to his new home.
Speechless
What do you say after witnessing that? I'm still in shock, I really can't belive what I saw last night. I just stood there, in my living in complete silence; dead silence. My brohter who I had chest-bumped and high-fived over and over in the first half stood with me. We stood there lifeless, like scarecrows in a cornfield, motionless we were just fixtures in front of the television set.
I want to be mad at the players and the coaches, I want to hate them and pick them apart from everything they did wrong last night. I can't; it's easy to point out everything after the fact. It's easy to lay blame and point the finger. Truth is you just have to give it to the Celtics, the game last night was not given to them, they took it. Like most of the Lakers fans, hands down that is the worst loss I have ever witnessed. You factor in the magnitude of the loss, 1) They blew a 24 point lead to the Celtics 2) They blew the lead at home 3) They blew it in the Finals 4) They blew it with a chance to tie the series 2-2 and put themselves in prime position to take a 3-2 lead the next game at Staples.
Defeated and demoralized the Lakers and their fans woke up today to the reality of being down 3-1 and suffering a near fatal wound last night that might carry over to game 5. This series is reminiscent of the 2004 Finals in which the Lakers were outworked and bullied. It has become very obvious that our Lakers are starving for toughness, a trait that has been abscent as long as I have been a Laker fan.
Still delirious from the devastating loss last night, I sit here at work dawning my Laker baseball cap and Laker jacket in support of the team I have grown to love since my early days a young boy sitting on the couch next to my dad and watching the 1991 Finals. Of course I was too young to understand what was happening but it was then when it began. Like most Laker fans this is the toughest loss I have had to deal with. I am still proud of the Lakers and the impressive season they put together this year. I hold on to hope of a miracle comeback; Go Lakers!
Staples Center Crowd is a Joke
It is really emberassing to have such a lame crowd for such a prestigious NBA team. There was no energy or life in the building last night. Typical bandwagon fans at Staples, thats the most frustrating part of being a Laker fan. Like Petros said the other day, the Lakers are a who's-who franchise and whoever has the money to pay for the tix gets in. The real fans are the ones who were at Staples for Games 1 and 2, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were louder than the squares that were there for Game 3. Games 1 and 2, I don't remeber the fans at any point stop yelling or chanting defense every time the Lakers had possession. It's amazing the Lakers are undefeated because they don't have much of a homecourt advantage. The only time those squares at Staples cheer is when the game gets tight or Kobe goes off. It wasn't till the deciding final minutes of the fourth quarter that the crowd go in to the game. They should have been that loud the moment they walked into Staples Center. That's not going to happen because the people there who have the money to be there are not interested in the game, they are just there to be seen, they are too cool to yell.
